Corpus Christi Church
This Roman Catholic church dominates surrounding northern suburbs of Brisbane. Built 1925-26 it is a city and heritage icon.
A prominent feature is the copper roof and massive dome within. The design replicates St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
Gillard Group work commenced with an audit January 2024. A separate prime contractor has significant restoration undertakings.
As the church was consecrated November 1926, 100 years will be celebrated November 2026. The aim is to finish all works before then.
