Royal Childrens Hospital

The Wonder Factory is a secret playground for sick children admitted to the Royal Childrens Hospital Brisbane.

The design had to be calming yet enthralling; unstructured yet functional; and above all fun. The gloom in the distance hides data projectors, which light up the space with cartoons and movies.

The Gillard Group won a DIA Award for the work.  Most pleasing, however, was the lovely letter (2008) we received from the Hospital about how the space makes a difference to sick children.
