Brisbane City Council

Brisbane is the third largest city in Australia but the local council is the biggest and most populace in the nation. The Council’s annual budget is $3B (Aus).

The Council contracted the Gillard Group for an extensive period to perform a wide range of services as a prelude to upgrading Burnett Lane.

The long narrow lane in the central business district is the oldest in the city and was a former exercise yard for prisoners.

Consultancy services analysed existing light levels, CCTV coverage and safety issues and generated ideas and lighting options.

The lane is now a quirky space hosting eateries, an etched pavement, mural art, trapese lights and fashion events.
