St Thomas Church

A Gillard Group award winning bespoke luminaire designed for St Thomas Church.

The design is rich in symbolism but simple and elegant in execution.  The luminaire appears to hover unaided.

The luminaire lights the altar below and Christ’s sculpture in the background while providing soft indirect lighting on the ceiling and surrounds.

Accordingly, the internal workings of the luminaire are complex and required careful thought about weight, maintenance and aesthetics.
